Erasmus "Rash" Dowtey aka Michael Larsen
Erasmus hails from the seaside town of Towyn, Wales. A jack of all trades, he's an able mariner, a decent shot, a good overall handyman, a respectable singer and musician, and a better than average cook. While in his active years, a plague took hold of Towyn and took the lives of two young ladies parents. These young ladies were Cordelia and Lucille Bowen. Rather than see them suffer under the privations of being orphaned, "Rash" decided to include them as part of his retinue, referring to them as Eric And Edgar Shockley or as they would become much better known, "Knots" and "Boxy". He kept their secret for many years until it was no longer possible to keep it a secret. Thus, one is never too sure if one will meet up with Eric/Cordelia or Edgar/Lucille but make no mistake, he will protect them with his life.
Michael Larsen considers re-enactment a "family affair" between him and his two daughters, Karina and Amber Larsen. They enjoy inhabiting a variety of times and eras, including medieval/renaissance, Golden Age of Piracy, early American pioneering, and up to late Victorian. Michael especially looks for opportunities where he can sing and play a variety of instruments including guitar, mandolin, drums and most recently oud. In his non re-enactment time, he works as a software tester, freelances as a technical writer, and sings for the hard rock band Ensign Red. He's been married to his wife Christina for 26 years and also has a son (Nick, 22) and while they are not interested in re-enactment themselves, fully support and encourage the other three family members.
