Captain Nathaniel Prynne
Captain Nathaniel Prynne was born in the year 1726. Nathaniel inherited his love of the sea from his father and as a young man spent several years (1745-1751) sailing on merchant vessels. Nathaniel enlisted in the British Army in 1754 to fight for the British in the French & Indian War. As a reward for his service to the Crown, and along with his knowledge of the sea, Nathaniel was commissioned as a “Privateer” in 1762 by King George the Third. Captain Prynne also acquired Letters of Marque from Spain in 1762 and France in 1763. With his “earnings”, Captain Prynne returned to land in 1770 and acquired substantial holdings in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Florida. Captain Prynne is a founding member of the “Black Seal Boys” and soul founder and proprietor of the “Nathaniel Prynne Expedition”. Now, in 1775, Captain Prynne is recruiting for his local militia, preparing for an inevitable revolution in the American Colonies.
